We are excited to announce the release of our latest report, “The Pulse of Redmine in 2024.” This in-depth analysis explores the vitality and performance of the Redmine community based on data collected from Redmine.org throughout the year, from January 1st to December 31st, 2024.

In our Versions Overview, we detail the historical trends of major releases. Until 2024, we saw 7 major releases and 207 sub-releases. Notably, the 6.0.x version is fully supported, featuring new functionalities, bug fixes, and security updates. In contrast, versions 5.1.x and 5.0.x are supported only for bug fixes and security updates, respectively.
Our Issue Analysis section reveals that a total of 2,066 issues were created during the year. After filtering out 1,554 deleted issues, we focused on the remaining 512 active issues. The Key Issue Statistics indicate a significant volume of issues in November, primarily categorized as Defects. The Trend of Issue Creation shows a peak in 2010, followed by a gradual decline until 2024.
In the Plugins section, we report that 60 new plugins were registered in 2024, contributing to a total of 1,177 plugins since 2010. A chart illustrates the yearly development of Redmine plugins, highlighting a resurgence in plugin registrations from 23 in 2023 to 60 in 2024. Our Top-Rated Plugins of 2024 include:
Our analysis of Google Trends reveals that interest in Redmine peaked between 2011 and 2014. Notably, search interest varies significantly by region, with the highest search volumes coming from countries such as Japan, China, South Korea, and Latvia.
